FY2010 Interior Appropriations Bill includes $19 million
for Eisenhower Memorial design and related activities

On October 30, 2009, President Obama signed the congressional appropriations bill that funds organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution, the John F. Kennedy Center, and the National Park Service. This bill, now Public Law 111-88, includes funding for the Eisenhower Memorial Commission’s two-year design process. This show of support from the federal government is very encouraging, as it enables the design of the memorial to commence.

In these challenging times, Eisenhower’s legacy should not be forgotten. Honoring his lifetime of service, his struggle for lasting peace, and his commitment to security will inspire future generations to pursue selfless leadership and responsible citizenship.
