Now that the official site has been approved on September 21, 2006, the Commission will begin the early stages of developing a design concept for a plaza type memorial.
While working on site selection, the Commission assembled considerable information about Dwight Eisenhower and the enduring legacy he left for all Americans. The next step will be to organize the information and present it in a convincing and appealing manner. This will be of considerable help to those participating in the memorial design process.
Within six to eight months we hope to have all the design parameters identified, such as architecture, landscaping, lighting, and exhibit design. The announcement of a public competitive design program will open this next phase of the process.
