Dear Betty:1 I am a little puzzled as to what answer to give Mr. Starks about the Sadler print.2 I should, of course, be delighted to have it.
On the other hand, I am always embarrassed when I accept from people gifts to which they are obviously very much attached. Moreover, in my current position I have so little opportunity to enjoy things of this sort that it seems a pity to deprive the donor of the pleasure he has in them.
Out of all this, can you possibly formulate an answer for your friend?
