Dear Milton: I am engaged in preparing a very abbreviated chart containing statistical data on our immediate family in the Eisenhower tribe. The chart is being prepared to surround a reproduction of the wedding picture of our father and mother.1
Data included will necessarily be brief, but I should like to have such vital statistics as you care to send me pertaining to Helen, and to the children.
In the case of each of the boys, the date of birth will be shown, with principal occupation--incidentally, just what is your principal occupation these days?--and anything else that you might particularly like included.
For each individual shown, I should, of course, like to indicate the date of birth and so on.
In addition to the above, I should like to include some vital statistics concerning Dad's father and mother, and also Mother's. Grandfather's name was, of course, Jacob Eisenhower, and I believe he was born in 1826--is my memory correct in believing that he died in 1904? He was married to a Miss Mather. Was her name Rebecca? Do you know anything else about her as to dates of birth and death? Incidentally, I believe her mother's maiden name was Dietrich. Her father was a Captain in the War of 1812. He is the particular one of our ancestors that make you and me eligible to belong to the Society of 1812. (However, I cannot go back that far in the family tree on the simple chart I am trying to produce.)
Mother was the daughter of Simon Stover, who married a Miss Link. The dates of their births and deaths are not immediately available in my records and I do not recall her first name. I am sure that none of us boys ever saw either one of them because--unless my memory is very tricky--they both died before Mother was married. If you recall them, I should like also to have the exact dates of the deaths of Father and Mother.2
After the chart has been prepared, I will have copies struck off and one sent to you--if you would care to have it.3
All the best, As ever
