Dear Ed and Kay: For a long time I have wanted to write a joint note to the two of you in an attempt to express my appreciation of your efforts in connection with the refurbishing of the Eisenhower home in Abilene.1
I realize that you contributed largely to the project and that you--especially Kay--spent a lot of time supervising the actual work.2 Of course I am eager personally to see the result, but meantime Milton and Earl have told me what a fine job it is, and how pleased they are.3 I assure you that I am more than grateful to you for your interest and assistance in a matter that is very close to my heart.
With affectionate regard--and many thanks, Sincerely
