Dear Bob: Yesterday I had a group of people for luncheon who have become prominent in various branches of sport. One of them was named Andy Anderson, who tells me that he is a good friend of yours.1 After luncheon he and I talked a bit about fishing, and he told me that he was going to send me a line that would be especially adapted to a one and a half ounce rod I have. The little rod is fun to use, but Ambercrombie and Fitch did not fit the right kind of line to it, in my opinion. Anyhow, Andy Anderson asked me to convey to you his greetings and best wishes.
Writing this note gives me a chance, also, to thank you for your kindness in commenting on our broadcast effort the other evening.2 I agree with you that it would be desirable to let our people know more about the "fiscal mess."
With all the best, Sincerely
