Dear Bill: Mamie tells me that you are in Bobby Cutler's hospital in Boston. I hope they are taking excellent care of you and that you will be able to go back to the school within the matter of a week or so.1
As perhaps you know, Mamie and I took a few days off and went down to Georgia last weekend. The people there claim we brought them "Eisenhower" weather--lots of sunshine and beautiful clear skies. I played some not too spectacular golf and a little bridge, and both of us came back to Washington feeling much refreshed. And, incidentally, we woke Monday morning to find ourselves in the midst of a snowstorm!
This note is really just to tell you that you are constantly in our hearts and thoughts. You have our great affection always. As ever
