It occurs to me that we have some new officials in executive positions in government who might not be aware of my strict instructions regarding no favoritism for friends or relatives of mine. Will you please see that everyone is acquainted with the policy that this government hires no one except on their own merits--and not on the basis of any connection with the president's family or friends.1
