Dear Rav: As I understand it, you are now the Czar of Carvers. Regardless of title, I want to tell you how delighted I am that this great honor has come to you, one that all of your friends will applaud.1
I am sorry that as a Honorary Fellow of the College of Surgeons, I was not allowed to vote for you.2 Could I have done so your unanimous vote would have been reinforced by one additional number.
My most sincere felicitations. Please convey my warm greetings to Betty and, of course, all the best to yourself. As ever
